Rhythm of the Forest is a view of Ennerdale Forest, in one of the Lake District’s quietest and most beautiful valleys. The forest here is part of one of the UK’s longest-running wilding projects, where nature is slowly reclaiming the land — and you can feel that sense of renewal in the air.
I wanted to capture that movement: the way light shifts through the trees, how the ground seems alive with colour, and the calm that settles around you when you stop and really take it in. Bold brush strokes and loose palette-knife marks give the painting its energy, while the cool greens and soft light offer a feeling of peace and breathing space.
This is an original oil painting on artist board, framed in a sleek black floating frame. It’s ready to hang and designed to bring a slice of wild, restorative nature into your home.
